Abuse may be psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional and can be directed against an adult or a child. A child may also be a victim of indirect abuse if they witness abuse to a parent.
If you have been a victim of domestic violence, we can advise you about the range of options open to you. We can protect you and your children by applying for injunction proceedings (known as non-molestation and occupation orders) as well as advising on applications involving controlling and coercive behaviour and applications under the Protection from Harassment Act.
We are also experienced in making applications for a forced marriage protection order for individuals being threatened with, or already in a forced marriage.
We also act for clients who have been accused of entering a forced marriage and we understand the cultural issues arising for the couple and their wider family members.
