Building agreements case study

One of our clients is a leading developer of student and other rented accommodation, with 1.5 billion GBP of property under construction, management or ownership.

It usually engages with third party funders for the development of its schemes.

Over a number of projects we have amended and refined their standard form construction documents to ensure they are in an institutionally acceptable form, so saving time and money when engaging with a number of different funders.

Having worked with the developer and its supply chain over a number of projects, we are also aware of what the supply chain will/won’t accept as contractual requirements and can advise the funders of this to also save time and cost.

Our experience and how we can help

Our team acts for a broad range of clients across the industry, including major developers, financial institutions, employers and contractors.

We are familiar with the common commercial requirements of other parties and how these can be implemented in deliverable building agreements. Our team has an in-depth knowledge of all of the well-known standard form contracts and professional appointments (including the JCT suite, NEC, IChemE, FIDIC and PPC 2000).

We also draft and negotiate bespoke forms of contractual arrangements where appropriate.
