Bruntwood signs deal to increase 4G connectivity to Greater Manchester

Bruntwood has signed a deal with Cornerstone Telecommunications Infrastructure Limited (CTIL), that will enhance 4G mobile coverage for Greater Manchester businesses and residents.

CTIL is the company created to manage the single grid network of installations previously belonging to Vodafone and Telefónica. The 10 year contract will see CTIL place 4G telecoms apparatus on 17 of Bruntwood's buildings across the region.

On the deal, Andrew Butterworth, Sales Director, Bruntwood, commented: "The introduction of high speed networks across the UK are set to have a dramatic impact on the way we operate over the coming years.

"At Bruntwood, we aim to put connectivity at the heart of everything we do in order to give our customers the competitive advantage to succeed in business. This deal with CTIL will benefit not only Bruntwood customers, but commercial and residential communities across Greater Manchester, giving them increased access to the latest in telecoms technology.

"We are delighted to be involved in bringing this state-of-the-art technology to the region, which will put Manchester in the very best position to take advantage of the increased innovation, productivity and efficiencies that are enabled by superfast mobile internet."

Legal advice to Bruntwood was provided by a specialist telecoms real estate team at national law firm, Shoosmiths, led by partner Andrew Farmery assisted by associate George Pantelli.

Andrew Farmery of Shoosmiths, added: "Bruntwood has a number of buildings that are absolutely perfect locations for mobile communications masts, so it made sense for it to seek opportunities to secure this revenue stream. Working closely with Andrew Cranston of Cell:CM chartered surveyors, who specialise in exactly this sort of arrangement, we were able to advise Bruntwood so that it achieved the best possible deal."

CTIL was advised by Wragge& Co partner Jack Jacovou, who was assisted by Kathryn Bird.
