Leading UK law firm Shoosmiths has reaffirmed its living sector expertise after being named ‘Legal/Professional Team of the Year – Residential’ at the RESI Awards for the second year running.
The firm picked up the prestigious award, nominated against 10 other contenders, after displaying an unrivalled reputation in the market for helping residential developers and other key players to deliver homes across the UK.
The judges described the Shoosmiths living sector team as having ‘had a strong year’, noting they had also ’risen to the challenges posed by COVID, supporting clients and launching interesting initiatives’.
Such achievements for the team have included influencing positive policy change as one of five lead partners in a town centre property innovation programme, impacting policy reform through partnering on a paper arguing for modernising property taxes and supporting the growth of the clean hydrogen economy in Northern Ireland.
The annual ceremony, which was held in person on 1 December, is organised by Property Week to recognise the residential property sector and its successes.
Head of living sector at Shoosmiths Catherine Williams said: “This further recognition from the RESI Awards team and Property Week allows us to celebrate the commitment, expertise and genuine pride of Shoosmiths’ work in the living sector. It is a testament to the bold and innovative deals we are able to work on with our clients as we continue to build a new living sector future within this rapidly evolving and exciting market.”
Kirsten Hewson, head of real estate at Shoosmiths, said: “We’re thrilled that Shoosmiths has once again been recognised as the residential legal/professional team of the year at the RESI awards. This consecutive accolade is a result of the hard work of our ever-growing team, as we continue to go from strength to strength.”
