The Birmingham-based real estate team at UK law firm Shoosmiths has advised its long-standing client whg on its multi-million pound 400-home development in Walsall.
The project, which will be delivered alongside project partner Keepmoat Homes, will consist of 407 homes in the Goscote area of Walsall. 102 of these homes will be for social rent with a further 24 for affordable rent. Work is expected to start later this year.
Partner Bhavesh Amlani, who leads the Midland’s housing development, regeneration and social housing real estate team, led on the advice, alongside senior associates Ben Smith and Andrew Outram.
Bhavesh said: “We are really thrilled to have been part of this complex project with whg, which has been in development for some time. This will provide much needed homes for the Goscote area of Walsall, and we are sure that this will be a development that both whg and the town can be proud of.”
Mark Ramdehal, head of development at whg said, said: “We have worked with Bhavesh and the team for many years now, and we are always pleased with the pro-active, pragmatic and technical advice we receive, which is timely and constructive. There is no doubt that the Goscote area of Walsall is in need of affordable housing and wider development. We have listened to advice from the council and wider community, and this approved project will be a massive boost to the area.”
The properties that will be built on site will be a mixture of two, three and four bedroom houses as well as a one and two bed bungalows.
