Shoosmiths harnesses the power of ' eight ' with new connected services offering

UK law firm Shoosmiths has today announced its brand-new offering Shoosmiths EIGHT Connected Services, which will provide non-legal products to its clients, complementing the firm’s existing services.

Building on the ‘New How’ initiative the firm launched in 2020, Shoosmiths EIGHT Connected Services has been developed to help clients thrive by working smarter, faster and better in an increasingly complex world, where the pace and magnitude of change has never been greater.

As the moniker suggests, Shoosmiths EIGHT Connected Services has eight product categories, comprising a range of services from across the firm’s divisions for a range of clients: from in-house lawyers to General Counsel, from Board members to Heads of Function such as Real Estate:

  1. Innovation Lab – this is where Shoosmiths clients will be able to find our growing stable of technology products designed to streamline how they work – this includes the firm’s legal operations platform for in-house lawyers, matters+ and our artificial intelligence-powered contract review tool, Cia.

  2. Contract Lifecycle houses everything clients need to help them manage their contracts, from initial procurement to in-life management and through to renewals and re-procurement.

  3. The Academy comprises high-end executive coaching, team development and online training tools for legal and non-legal professionals alike.

  4. Corporate Advisory Solutions is a package of services to help our clients manage reputation, regulation, governance and business growth through insight, harnessing the value of big data and our collective clever like no other law firm.

  5. Privacy & Data Services includes commoditised data services like our UK Representative Service for non-UK-resident corporates and our outsourced Data Protection Officer service, that saves our clients tens of thousands of pounds and enables them to focus on their core business.

  6. IHL Excellence, led by senior in-house counsel, the firm’s consultants will support clients to review legal operations and legal team structuring, and implement transformational change including managed legal service outsourcing and functional reorganisation.

  7. Real Estate Evolved will provide clients with access to the latest innovations, including proptech and other digital tools e.g. Lease Infinity – supporting retail landlords to better manage their extensive property portfolio.

  8. And finally, Community+ our contract lawyer offering that will focus on supplying our clients with the very best quality, experienced lawyers.

Shoosmiths’ national head of Commercial Group, David Jackson, led the project team that developed the proposition and Commercial partner Tony Randle will lead the offering from its launch.

David Jackson, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching our eight Connected Services after months of engineering. Designed by our lawyers in consultation with our clients, we’re confident these innovative products will help make our clients’ operations more effective, giving business insight for business growth. And just like our New How campaign launched in May 2020, ‘eight’ will build on helping our clients to emerge smarter, faster and better than before.”

Tony Randle, said: “These products will be delivered by our people – not machines – enabling us to evolve our unique client experience. We’re very excited about rolling out our Connected Services to clients – because we know what a positive, measurable impact they will bring to them. They will help them with their business objectives and free up their time – what they have told us is their most precious commodity.”

Shoosmiths’ CEO Simon Boss, commented: “Shoosmiths EIGHT Connected Services provides our clients with imaginative new services and cutting-edge technologies in a different and engaging way. Importantly we’re able to deliver these products because we listen carefully to our clients, learn about their businesses and fine-tune our services to their needs. I’m very proud that we’re launching our ‘eight’ proposition today, because I know how much of a difference it will make.”
