Shoosmiths makes corporate hire in Belfast as part of growth strategy

Shoosmiths has signalled its intent to widen its offering in Belfast with an ambitious corporate partner hire – an M&A specialist with significant experience in the private equity sector.

Mark DavisMark Davis has worked with a range of clients, including multinational corporates, private equity funds and the offices of wealthy international families.

His appointment, as a partner, is part of the firm’s growth strategy aimed at acting for larger corporates and funds on higher value transactions.

Stephen Porter, head of corporate division, said: “We’re really pleased to be welcoming Mark at such an important time for the firm, as we continue to grow our national corporate team and our presence in the Belfast market.

“Mark will be playing an important role in building our profile and market presence within the Belfast corporate finance and banking community. His skills and experience will also be an added bonus to our existing real estate, energy, commercial and litigation teams, assisting them on the ground locally.

“Nationally, Mark will also provide additional strength in depth at partner level. With his extensive experience gained at some of London’s leading private equity practices, he will be a valuable addition to our growing PE practice.”

Prior to establishing his own advisory business, Mark held partner roles at Dechert, Taylor Wessing and, most recently McDermott Will & Emery, where he was head of its London corporate practice and co-chair of the firm’s global private equity group.
