The Shoosmiths Court of Protection team in collaboration with our colleagues in Serious Injury invite you to join us on Thursday, 11 March 2021 at 10:00 - 15:30 for our first virtual seminar ‘From Litigation to Deputyship and beyond’, designed primarily to provide insight for non-legal professionals working in the field of brain injury. We will explore what steps should be taken post injury or medical negligence, when litigation is appropriate and what considerations need to be taken into account when looking at settlement.
We will also explore the role of a deputy, when it is appropriate for a professional deputy to be involved and the wide range of decision making involved in their role. We will consider how they work with other professionals including multi-disciplinary teams, financial advisers and healthcare professionals. The seminar includes presentations from external speakers and clients. We will look at what really happens after an injury or medical negligence, what issues professionals need to be aware of to support their clients and the practicalities involved.
