The Future of Sheffield – Reshaping the heart of the city

The question of what our urban centres are used for and how they should adapt has never been more pertinent. Recently a finalist for the 2020 European City of the Year, Sheffield’s transformation was booming when the pandemic struck, with its £480m Heart of the City II masterplan attracting flagship occupiers such as John Lewis and Radisson Blue and the city centre’s first zero-carbon office on the horizon.

But as we gain a better understanding of the long-term changes brought about by the events of 2020, can Sheffield continue the momentum and tackle the upcoming challenges with confidence?

  • With the emphasis on "choice", how will this impact the future of work in Sheffield?
  • How will the renewal and repurposing of existing buildings integrate within the existing fabric of the city centre?
  • And with health and wellbeing at the top of the agenda, what more needs to be done with the surrounding public spaces in Sheffield?

In association with EG, Kellie Hatton will be a panellist at this event and will be joined by Mark Jackson, development director, Scarborough Group International and Martin McKervey, chair, Sheffield Property Association.
