Shoosmiths was the legal star of the show at the Thames Valley & Solent Deals Awards, 2012 after winning both of the legal categories.
The national law firm won Law Firm of the Year, with corporate partner Emma Gibson being named Lawyer of the Year.
The annual awards are run by The Business Magazine and attract entries from banks and private equity houses, business advisers, lawyers and other intermediaries from across the whole of the Thames Valley and Solent.
The Deal of the Year Award in the lower mid market category was awarded for the management buy-out and investment by Alcuin Capital in Krispy Kreme UK. Shoosmiths' Emma Gibson and Sean Wright - who was named Dealmaker of the Year at the same awards in 2009 - advised the Krispy Kreme management team.
Shoosmiths' Thames Valley and Solent teams have advised on numerous local transactions in the last 12 months, including the £60m secondary buy-out of Davies Group, the £25m management buy-out of Krispy Kreme, the £70m secondary buy-out of A-Gas by LDC, the acquisition of LM Group by Experian and the Business Growth Fund's £4.2m investment in Benefex Group.
Gibson said: "I'm still stunned, but absolutely delighted at being named Lawyer of the Year.
"Our corporate teams are really making their mark nationally, but if it wasn't for our clients and the strong relationships we've managed to build with them, we wouldn't be here."
Shoosmiths' national head of corporate Chris Garnett added: "I'm incredibly proud of Emma and the rest of the team. It's proving to be a great start to the year, and we're delighted to have that success recognised with these awards."
Shoosmiths' national corporate team has also just been ranked by Experian Corpfin as one of the top five law firms for volume of UK deals done in 2011.
The latest edition of legal directory Chambers ranks the Shoosmiths' southern corporate team in the top tier and describes it as having 'a reputation for providing high quality advice and working on the most important corporate matters in the region'; while Legal 500 also places them in tier one, describing them as a 'very helpful, friendly and personal team'.
The Thames Valley & Solent Deals Awards were sponsored by Barclays, Grant Thornton, HMT, HSBC, Lamport Bassitt, Leumi ABL, Lloyds Bank, Pitmans, and PwC.
