National law firm Shoosmiths is celebrating after being recognised as a top undergraduate employer at the National Undergraduate Employability Awards for the third year in a row.
Hosted by RMP Enterprise and sponsored by PwC, the awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of employers who provide work experience placements to undergraduates.
In its seventh year, the top 100 list benchmarks those employers, universities and students across the UK who have demonstrated commitment and dedication to the field of undergraduate employability.
Shoosmiths has been commended for the range of opportunities it provides to students getting ready to start their career in law. The firm employed 60 students on summer placements, and 20 graduates as trainee solicitors last year and has a reputation for being the best graduate employer in the UK's legal sector. On the success of this year's summer placement, Shoosmiths is introducing a spring placement for April 2016 which candidates can apply to via www.shoosmiths.co.uk from December 2015.
One placement student commented in the survey 'Shoosmiths genuinely live up to their reputation and the values and culture. Everyone at the firm was engaging, friendly and eager to get to know me as a person.'
This latest commendation follows the firm's recent success at the LawCareers.Net Training and Recruitment Awards where they received the 'Best Trainer' award and a commendation for diversity. Shoosmiths also recently made the 'Top Companies for Graduates to Work For' list, which is compiled by The JobCrowd.
Samantha Hope, Shoosmiths' graduate recruitment manager, said: 'It's great to be recognised for the quality of training and support we provide to students on placement at Shoosmiths. Our success depends on our people so we go above and beyond to offer the right support and encouragement to nurture the talent, ambition and creativity of our students.'
