Final step in move to single case management platform

All Shoosmiths' financial services dispute resolution and recoveries departments are now using a single case management platform, following the completion of a £1.2m migration project.

Mortgage Litigation and Recoveries, and Repossession Sales, have both moved to Visualfiles, which went live on 27 February.

The departments, based in Manchester and Northampton, join the rest of the national law firm's Lender Services Group in using Visualfiles.

A popular system, it will provide access to flexible matter and workflow processes, enabling rapid reaction to fast-changing client and market demands.

It replaces a current system no longer deemed fit for purpose.

Waine Mannix, partner and head of Lender Services Group, said: "This systems switch is a significant one; and our biggest single IT project in more than six years. It means the service we offer clients can be even better.

"Visualfiles provides us with trusted, high performance case management workflow tools, improved transactional intelligence, and, crucially, frees up legal advisers' time. It was important, too, to have all of Lender Services Group on one platform."

The move to Visualfiles also signals an immediate start on further IT developments, including the development and delivery of phase two of Visualfiles, a system to receive mortgage recoveries instructions, and a new telephony system.

Shoosmiths' Lender Services Group brings together two finance sector specialisms: finance litigation, and recoveries and collections. Clients include UK and European banks, finance houses, major building societies, manufacturer-owned motor finance companies, and independent asset finance and motor finance companies.
