The news comes after the national law firm won 'Legal Provider of the Year' at the European Motor Finance Awards last month, and 'Legal Provider of the Year' at the European Leasing Life Awards in November. These three awards ceremonies in particular are all highly regarded by the industry, and winning them is widely considered as the acid test for revealing the industry's best performers.

Shoosmiths partner and head of the recoveries services group Waine Mannix, national head of asset finance, Melanie Chell, partner Roger Potgieter and team leader Laura Walden collected the award from the ceremony, held at Grosvenor House, London.

The Shoosmiths asset finance team was judged to be best in its class by a panel of independent industry experts in areas including legal expertise, financial results, client satisfaction, innovative use of technology leading to an improved outcome for clients. Judges also considered Shoosmiths to have made a major contribution to the field of debt recovery.

Credit Today's judges said: 'Shoosmiths showed a strong focus on getting the outcomes right for both customers and clients - a uniquely demonstrated factor among the entries.'

Melanie Chell said: 'It's a privilege for our team to be recognised by three different judging panels as leaders in the industry - and winning the Credit Today award last night was the icing on the cake.

'Following our wins at the European Leasing Life and Motor Finance awards, for 'Legal Provider of the Year' awards, this accolade from Credit Today is a terrific reflection of the breadth and depth of our growing team's expertise and our commitment to always putting our clients first.'

This third award win in a year comes as more key lateral hires are appointed to grow the successful team.

Janet Dalton, head of financial services in Manchester, and asset finance partner Roger Potgieter joined from DWF earlier in the year, bringing with them associates Suzanne Taylor and Aleea Bhatoo, and solicitor Charlotte Healey.

Shoosmiths asset finance team advises industry leading clients on the full range of asset finance transactions, from small to medium ticket hire purchase transactions and vehicle leasing through to big ticket rail and aircraft operating lease structures and recoveries.
