The sale of the sites in Faversham and Buckingham to BDW will result in the eventual delivery of more than 700 new homes and associated infrastructure.

Both deals were handled by a team at Shoosmiths, including partner Thomas Hall, senior associate David Goy and solicitor Holly Bennett. It represents the two most significant transactions completed for Hallam Land since their arrival from Irwin Mitchell at the beginning of 2017.

Shoosmiths' Hall said: "Both deals represent the culmination of many years' work by Hallam Land and as part of Hallam Land's legal team we're delighted to have been involved throughout the duration of these projects. It is fantastic that we have been able to hit the ground running since our arrival at Shoosmiths by advising on these significant and important deals for Hallam Land and we look forward to continuing and growing our relationship in the future."

Hall, Goy and Bennett are part of Shoosmiths' national network of strategic-land specialists, advising on all legal aspects of taking sites from fields to new communities.

Nick Duckworth, managing director of Hallam Land, said: "These transactions will deliver a great result to our landowners with whom we work in partnership, and continuing Hallam's excellent track record of securing planning consents for the delivery of much-needed housing throughout the country. Shoosmiths delivered clear and commercial advice in a manner enabling us to complete these important deals."
