National law firm Shoosmiths is building upon their successful real estate practice with the appointment of new real estate partner, Bhavesh Amlani, who will head up the residential development and social housing team in Birmingham.
Bhavesh joins from SGH Martineau, where he has practiced as a real estate lawyer for the last 15 years, specialising in multi-million pound development projects and investment work and advising national and regional developers, publicly listed house builders, household name retailers and private and corporate investors. At Shoosmiths, Bhavesh will continue to advise clients on these matters in relation to projects regionally and across the UK and contribute to the firm's national strategy on residential development and social housing.
Shoosmiths head of the Birmingham office and head of real estate in Birmingham, Jason Jackson, said: 'It is great to see Bhavesh joining us here in Shoosmiths, he has an excellent reputation among advisors in the sector and will add real value to the real estate team. Our real estate practice is going from strength to strength and residential development is an area we have invested in recently, locally and nationally.'
Bhavesh said of his appointment: 'Shoosmiths has a fantastic reputation not only locally but nationally - the calibre of the talent here is very high. I am looking forward to working with the well-established and reputable team and to take forward the residential development and social housing offering in Birmingham.'
The appointment comes at an exciting time for Shoosmiths real estate practice as they welcome back Andrew Tubbs - lead partner for a number of regional and national developers as well as the firm's banking clients in respect of all aspects of property finance. Andrew joined the firm in 1991 and was the national Chairman of Shoosmiths until 2015.
Shoosmiths' real estate group is one of the largest in the UK, made up of teams advising on real estate, construction, planning, property litigation, and environmental issues.
Shoosmiths' clients include commercial and residential developers, investors, retail and leisure operators, social housing bodies, major corporate occupiers, banks and other funders and a range of public sector bodies.
