Shoosmiths real estate partners Kathryn Jump and Lisa Tye are celebrating after being shortlisted for the Women In Business Awards (WIBA) 2015 - North West and Isle of Man, in the 'Professionals' category.
Kathryn and Lisa are two of 31 top business women in the region who have been shortlisted by an independent panel of judges. Both Kathryn and Lisa form one nomination as both partners at the national law firm jobshare.
Dedicated to training and professional development for women, Forward Ladies runs its WIBA programme to elevate and celebrate the achievements of trailblazing and pioneering business women. In particular, the awards recognise the vital economic contribution made by professional women to our economy. Forward Ladies also runs high profile regional events, skills programmes and conferences throughout the UK.
Forward Ladies managing director Griselda Togobo, said: 'I was very impressed by the standard of entries and the breadth and scale of the work that the business women in our region are undertaking. These are extremely talented and capable women - pioneers and innovators in their chosen professions. Their hard work must be recognised so they can become credible and inspirational role models for future generations.'
Shoosmiths' Kathryn Jump, said: 'It is an honour for Lisa and I to be recognised for this prestigious award at this year's Women in Business Awards. Manchester is a very vibrant city that professionals are flocking to and it is a pleasure to be working here.'
Lisa Tye, added: 'Shoosmiths sets itself apart from the competition nationally by its ethos and client experience. The firm's genuine commitment to supporting women's careers has meant that Kathryn and I have been able to work on a job-share basis at partner level, which is virtually unheard of in the legal market. This arrangement has allowed us to continue to provide exceptional client service at all times and grow our business, whilst giving us flexible family time.'
The winners will be decided at an awards ceremony at The Midland hotel in Manchester on Friday 27, March. Joining the finalists, their colleagues and friends for a celebratory three course lunch will be speaker Deidre Bounds, an ethical entrepreneur, Channel4 TV presenter, best-selling author, and a self-made multi-millionaire.
