Shoosmiths scores AllAboutLaw awards hat-trick

Shoosmiths has bagged a hat-trick of wins at the AllAboutLaw Top Law Firms for Training Contracts and Vacation Schemes Awards 2013-14.

The national law firm came first in the Best Vacation Scheme, Best Vacation Scheme - National Firm; and Best for Training - Vacation Scheme categories.

It was also named runner-up in the Top Law Firm category.

The other runner-up slots it grabbed were in Best for Career Progression - Vacation Scheme; and Best Level of Support - Vacation Scheme.

Shoosmiths came third for Best Use of Social Media in a Trainee & Vacation Scheme Recruitment Campaign. is an online law careers resource for school leavers, students and graduates.

The AllAboutLaw success comes just weeks after Shoosmiths was voted by graduates the best law firm to work for, when it scored 4.3 from a maximum 5 in the 2013/14 Top Companies for Graduates to Work For list, compiled by

It puts Shoosmiths alongside sector winners such as Boots (retail), Nationwide (banking and finance), and Innocent Drinks (consumer goods).

Categories businesses are scored on include company culture, training and support, career progression, and work/life balance.

One reviewer posted that they liked '.the challenging and interesting work; friendly and professional people; can-do and encouraging work environment; accessible support from all levels; and feeling that you're valued'.

The firm finished 22nd overall, in a top 100 headed again by Microsoft, and featuring blue chip companies such as Sky, Vodafone, GlaxoSmithKline and Mars.
