The team, who were finalists last year, were picked out from more than 250 entries for the awards.

The award criteria stipulate that entrants must demonstrate that their compliance team is either led by a woman or has a diverse make-up with female team members being integral to its function and success.

Manchester-based senior associate, Andrea James, Nottingham-based senior associate, Aisling Duffy, and Birmingham-based senior associate Hayley Saunders all play pivotal roles in the Shoosmiths' compliance team and were included in the award nomination.

Andrea is an English and Irish qualified solicitor who leads Shoosmiths' Professional Discipline & Healthcare Regulatory Team - the main focus of Andrea's work is defending professionals at fitness to practise proceedings before their regulatory bodies. Aisling leads the firm's Data Protection Team and is experienced in advising clients on all matters relating to data including data protection, privacy law, freedom of information and data security. Hayley is a specialist Environmental, Health & Safety lawyer, praised in the legal directory Chambers UK for her 'approachability, professional support and knowledge' and in Legal 500 as being 'tenacious and knowledgeable'.

Andrea said: 'It is an absolute pleasure to have been shortlisted for this award. We endeavor to provide each client with an exceptional service and always ensure our knowledge and skill set remains at the cutting edge in the ever-changing sector of regulatory and compliance. Our team is brimming with talent and expertise and it is great for that to be recognised by these industry-leading awards.'

All will be revealed at this year's awards ceremony, which will take place on 19 March 2015 at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower, Knightsbridge, London.
