The excellent work of the Shoosmiths wealth protection team has resulted in their shortlisting in the private client category of the prestigious Law Society Excellence Awards 2015.
The Law Society awards team confirmed they had a very high calibre of applications this year and judging them was no mean feat. The VIP judges did, however, arrive at their decision and the shortlist was announced on 5 August 2015. Inclusion on the shortlist is entirely up to an independent panel of judges.
Excellence in Private Client Practice is a new category introduced to the awards this year. The judges were looking for exceptional teams or firms who excelled in a wide range of areas. Stated judging criteria included the need for finalists to demonstrate the necessary capacity and technical expertise to undertake complex and demanding private client issues as well as a dedication to achieving complete client satisfaction.
Private client category entries were scrutinised by the Law Society president, vice president and deputy vice president as well as specialist judges including Julia Abrey, partner with Withers Worldwide, Gill Steel, owner and director of LawSkills and Denzil Lush, a senior judge with Court of Protection. The final full shortlist is available on the Law Society website.
Charlotte Dunn, partner and national head of the Wealth Protection team said:
'To have been named a finalist in the Law Society Excellence Awards is very exciting for the team coming so soon after our recent shortlisting for the STEP awards. It is so rewarding to see all of our collective hard work and team effort being recognised in this way. It highlights our ability to undertake complex and technically challenging work without losing our personal touch.'
The category winners will be announced at a prestigious awards dinner and ceremony on 22 October 2015 at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel, London which will celebrate some of the very best work in the legal profession.
