Leeds colleague completes the Great North Run in aid of the Saras Hope Foundation

Helen Bridgman, senior associate in our Leeds real estate team recently completed a challenge in aid of the Sara’s Hope Foundation. As Helen explained

‘To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the start of our university experience, myself and some of my university friends decided we wanted to mark the occasion by doing something meaningful. We therefore decided to join forces and run the Great North Run as a team to raise money for the fantastic charity Sara’s Hope Foundation.

Leeds colleague completes the Great North Run in aid of the Sara’s Hope FoundationSara’s Hope Foundation was set up in 2007 in memory of Sara Hoburn who lost her battle with cancer in 2001. The charity work tirelessly to raise funds to meet their main objective which is to manage a holiday retreat in Crete offering respite for the families of children affected by cancer.

What followed was nine months of juggling work and home life in order to fit in enough training to get us race ready.

Whilst it was no easy task to get through those 13.1 miles on a bright but wet Sunday morning on 9 September 2018, we crossed the start and finish line together as a team and I feel incredibly proud to have been part of it. To date we have raised over £2,000 for the charity and it’ll be an experience that I will never forget”.
