Shoosmiths announces winners of its 2018 CR Awards for Excellence

Shoosmiths recently organised its third internal annual CR Awards for Excellence The entries and programmes they detailed have been truly inspiring and with so many worthy entries it was very difficult to choose our winners.

After much deliberation our three overall winners in 2018 who each received a £100 super cheque voucher plus a £100 donation each to a registered charity of their choice were:

Community Beth McArdle who has been the Birmingham office lead champion for several years and during the office’s partnering with Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice organised a very successful office wide It’s a Knockout Competition.

Marketplace Jill Davies for her co-ordination of our award winning pro bono clinic in Reading from 2009 until May 2018. Under Jill’s leadership the pro bono clinic was established in partnership with advice centre CommuniCare and the University of Reading School of Law and nearly ten years later continues as a much valued service for local Reading residents in legal need.

Workplace Cathy Hyde and Pauline Simpson in their roles as mental health champions in the Nottingham office. They have organised a number of mental health awareness activities stating for example that they want to start a ripple of kindness – all waves start with a ripple.
