Shoosmiths gets baking for Macmillans Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning

A number of offices recently organised a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Andrea Dargon, real estate PA explained ‘The Solent office (which recently relocated to the Forum at Parkway, Whiteley in Fareham) christened our new village square by holding a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan, organised by myself and Jo Lacey.

Shoosmiths gets baking for Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee MorningHaving recently moved from an office where we were spilt over three floors to our new shiny open plan office, it was a wonderful opportunity to chat with colleagues whom we had not met before. Our star baker of the day was Marlene Hill with her freshly baked brownies (still warm from being baked that morning) and her AMAZING rum cake… which disappeared super-fast!!

The coffee morning was not only delicious but a great success and we raised a fantastic £104.75. Thank you to the mystery partner who topped it up to £100!’

In Belfast the delicious cakes donated by colleagues raised £124, in Thames valley £169.37 was raised.

In Northampton £677 was raised from hot dogs, bingo and cake sales. Macmillan was also on hand to help judge an array of cakes with prizes awarded to:

  • Best Tasting Cake – Imogen Norwood (PC – Conveyancing);
  • Best Looking Cake – Sarah Jeffery (RLS – Asset Based Lending); and
  • Best Overall – Hannah Howard (RLS – Asset Based Lending).

Yes, it was £142 for the cake sale, £120 for the hot dogs and £415 for the bingo
