Shoosmiths Solent office goes yellow and spotty in aid of Children in Need

The Solent office went yellow and spotty this year in aid of Children in Need. The charity committee set up a number of events during the day on 16 November 2018 to raise as much money as possible.

There was a ‘Find the Pudsey’ competition, which people had to leave the comfort of their desks to hunt around the brand new Solent office for the 20 Pudseys that were hiding. We took part in the annual Children In Need duck race sweepstake. The race was live streamed in our Village Square where the suspense and anticipation was palpable whilst the ducks made their way down the course. The standard dress down Friday turned yellow and spotty to raise further funds. But the main event was the baking of Marlene Hill, who started baking at 4am in order to ensure that her famous chocolate brownies were still warm on arrival. We auctioned off a tray of brownies and her rum cake for £30, a single tray of brownies then went for £50 and then a further tray of brownies was commissioned to be made for the following week for a further £50.

Marlene’s baking raised £130 alone and as an office we raised a total of £268.08!!
