Thames Valley colleagues volunteer at New Beginnings charity
The Commercial Team in the Thames Valley office volunteered at New Beginnings on the 28 September 2018. Mags Crabb takes up the story.
‘New Beginnings is a charity based in Reading; its aim is to run an alcohol-free pub serving free food and drink for Reading’s homeless and needy. The charity have been transforming the Queen Arms pub so that it can be used for homeless services. The Thames Valley Commercial Team went along on 28 September and helped to sort our donations of clothes and food supplies. A couple of the team also did some painting.
The charity also offers an after school café for parents and children in need, which provides a hot meal, pre-owned clothing and a homework corner. They are planning to open a Night Café whereby they will offer a hot meal and a safe place to sleep for the night and provide a breakfast in the morning. This is a fantastic charity providing much needed help to the homeless and needy in the Reading area and the team all agreed that it was a pleasure to help out such a worthwhile charity.’
