Angela is a residential property lawyer with over 12 years' experience of all aspects of property transactions advising both high net worth individuals (mainly based in the Middle East, Far East and UK) and companies on the acquisition and disposal of high value residential property in London and in the country, drafting leases and development property work.

Angela also has experience in secured lending and advising private banks in property finance and Islamic finance transactions. Angela originally qualified as a commercial property solicitor advising clients on acquiring and disposing of commercial premises, public houses and restaurants.

Recent experience includes advising:

  • an overseas client in a purchase of 145 acres of land in Surrey Hills in excess of £6m, the land comprised of regulated tenancies, farm business tenancies and ASTs;
  • an overseas client company entering into underwriting agreements to acquire a number of off-plan plots from a developer who is yet to acquire the land in question and yet to apply for the planning permission for the site, the value of the transactions varied from £6m-£11m;
  • a tenant company acquiring the freehold title to the building for £3m subject to the service of Section 5 Landlord & Tenant Act notice, post completion involved in modernising the flat leases in line with current legal requirements and completing any ongoing licence for alterations.

Angela joined Shoosmiths in November 2019 following two years as a Senior Associate at Teacher Stern LLP and four years as an Associate at Charles Russell Speechlys LLP
