Emily is a Principal Associate in Shoosmiths' real estate division.  She has over 15 years’ experience of advising clients in non-contentious property matters.  She has particular expertise in the investment sector and is used to dealing with high value and complex matters. She regularly leads on transactions which require a project management role, bringing together a variety of specialist advisers to deliver the best outcome for her clients. 
 
Her experience includes advising:
 
  • A leading property investment company on the management of its portfolio, including advising on acquisitions, sales, lease negotiations and refinancings.  Notable recent transactions include the sale of five non-core properties for £82 million, and the acquisition and leaseback of a 17,000 square foot office building for c£15 million.
  • A luxury gym operator on the acquisition and development of landmark locations across London.
  • A global insurance company on all aspects of its UK-wide property portfolio, including the acquisition of a 62,724 square foot office building.
  • A rolling stock asset management company on the acquisition of 135-acre rail facility.
 
Emily has been ranked as 'Star Associate' and 'Associate to Watch' in Chambers and Partners UK for the past 3 years.  She is described in Chambers UK as being 'hard-working and really competent on complex matters', whilst Legal 500 acknowledges that she 'always provides clear, positive legal advice in often complex and unusual circumstances'.
 
Emily joined Shoosmiths in 2011. She has a degree from the University of Nottingham, and completed her postgraduate legal studies at Oxford University.
