Mel is the national head of ABL within the Business Advisory Division. Mel works nationally for her clients. Mel provides advice to the finance industry in relation to recovery of assets and monies and is also responsible for the team's "cradle to grave" motor and asset finance recoveries service.
Mel is well known within the Finance and Leasing Association and other trade bodies and was ranked in the Motor Finance - Power 50 for three years. The Motor Finance "Power 50" lists the top 50 most influential people in the UK Motor Finance industry.
Mel has more than 20 years experience in the finance industry and is known for being robust and commercial. Melanie has particular expertise in dealing with fraud and injunctive relief in relation to motor vehicles and other high-value assets to include cross border and out of jurisdiction recoveries. Melanie also specialises in title disputes, innocent purchaser claims, satisfactory quality disputes, liens, consumer credit issues and guarantee claims. Melanie trained with Shoosmiths qualifying in 2000 and returned to the firm in January 2011 from Gateley where she was a partner in the Banking and Asset Finance team.
