Rachel is an Associate in the Privacy and Data team at Shoosmiths. Rachel advises on a wide range of commercial and privacy matters across different sectors and has experience advising on international data breaches, global privacy projects, privacy policies and compliance with the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 and international privacy laws. During her training contract Rachel spent time on secondment with three clients, as a result of her experience in-house Rachel understands the commercial drivers of clients decisions and is able to provide tailored commercial advice.

Rachel’s recent experience includes:

  • Supporting a global business on a significant and multi-jurisdictional data incident involving regulatory filings in 20+ countries
  • Advising a multi-national company on compliance with Global Privacy laws in relation to COVID-19 Initiatives
  • Managing DSAR’s on behalf of clients
  • Advising a global car manufacturer on a range of framework service contracts

Rachel joined Shoosmiths as a trainee solicitor in 2018 and qualified into the Commercial Team in September 2020.

Prior to this, Rachel studied at the University of Manchester before completing the Law Conversion and Legal Practice Course.
