Sajel is an Associate in the Leasehold and Collective Enfranchisement team within the larger Property Litigation team in Milton Keynes.

She specialises in a wide variety of leasehold and collective enfranchisement matters, dealing with both contentious and non contentious issues for her clients. She also advises on right of first refusal matters. Sajel acts for private landlords and tenants, developers, management companies and lenders. Sajel is also the firm's expert in right of first refusal matters and regularly advises developer clients as well as providing updates and training.
Sajel’s other areas of specialism include undertaking right to manage matters and advising on absentee landlord issues. 

Sajel’s recent experience includes:

·          acting for a large intermediate landlord in respect of multiple statutory lease extension claims leading to a successful outcome at the Lands Tribunal. 

·          advising a well known developer on the freehold disposal of various sites and serving notices to comply with the right of first refusal. 

·          acting for a group of tenants seeking the right to manage their freehold building.


Sajel was a finalist in the Solicitor of the Year category at the Enfranchisement and Right to Manage Awards 2018 and is a member of the Association of the Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners.

Sajel studied at Keele University and the College of Law in Birmingham. She trained at a niche London West-end practice before moving to another niche practice specialising in leasehold and collective enfranchisement. She joined Shoosmiths as an Associate in 2014.
