Commercial debt recovery
"Shoosmiths LLP's 'outstanding' debt recovery practice provides a 'fast, knowledgeable and very commercially astute' service to lender and utility clients."
The Legal 500
Shoosmiths' commercial recoveries team works with all business-based sector clients, with the aim of recovering monies due from third parties, usually for goods and/or services delivered.
Our clients include large construction and recruitment sector companies, through to small businesses looking to recover an unpaid invoice from a customer.
We use our experience to engage with customers and recover payment without having to issue county court proceedings or insolvency. Our in-depth knowledge of many sectors allows us to deal with queries at the time, without need to constantly refer for instructions on straightforward matters.
The pre-legal collections cycle can be tailored to suit your requirements and can comprise a combination of letter, emails, SMS and outbound telephony over an agreed, fixed period. The pricing structure around this pre-legal service is flexible to suit the client and can either be a success fee or fixed fee arrangement.
Inevitably, some customers will not pay, and you will have to resort to the courts to achieve settlement. Shoosmiths has an excellent relationship with the County Court Bulk Centre, where we issue proceedings within hours of receiving the instruction to proceed, with the added benefit of discounted fees compared to the courts' counter service.
We offer real time, secure, online access so that clients can interact with their appointed Litigation Manager and view documents, emails and forms wherever they are.
Reporting is available through an enhanced reporting suite, where statistical data in analysed for the client and current status reports kept for management information. These reports are available to be downloaded or can be scheduled to be emailed at regular times.
