Shoosmiths swoops in to sponsor The Big Hoot

National law firm Shoosmiths is proud to be supporting Wild in Art and Birmingham Children’s Hospital with the sponsorship of our own owl for ‘The Big Hoot’ in Birmingham. The event has brought businesses, artists, schools and the local community together to create a free public art trail of stunning owl sculptures on display across Birmingham from 20 July until 27 September.

Our owl, which has been decorated in a colourful and geometric pattern, has been named ‘Tessellated Triangles’, and was designed by artist Devon Burke.

Tessellated Triangles is perched for all to see in Colmore Square – just a swoop away from our offices.

89 giant owls make up the the trail from the City Centre to Sutton Coldfield; Winson Green to Bournville and many places in between and enjoy beautiful open spaces; inspiring buildings and Birmingham’s cultural heritage along the way.

After the event, the owls will be auctioned to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Shoosmiths have raised more than £7500 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital in the last year as the Birmingham office charity. The charity was chosen by a landslide vote after two of our senior lawyers spoke about how the hospital helped them – read more here

This event is for a great cause. We hope you have fun discovering all the owls, and please take a picture of Tessellated Triangles – Let the ‘owl-spotting’ begin!
