Thames Valley trainees get creative in painting local charity office space

On 4th October 2019, Thames Valley trainees, Hayley Band, Molly Cullen, Alex Friston, Kathryn Kinsey, CJ Ntsiu, Manpreet Shoker and Natalie Wood stepped out of their comfort zones in volunteering to paint the walls of the local office charity, No.5 Young People.

Jane Murray supervised the trainees in putting down their laptops for paint brushes, swapping out their usual day jobs of preparing board minutes and attending employment tribunals; instead pulling up their sleeves and unleashing their inner ‘Picassos’.

Aside from a few splatters of paint, some unattractive overalls, messy hands and a few logistical challenges along the way, the finished article was a ‘Grand Designs’ worthy white-painted, primed and glossed room. The charity were visibly impressed with their artistry and have confirmed that they will be using the freshly decorated office as their main meeting room, and will be adding their own mural to honour their upcoming 50th anniversary.

Next up in the spring/summer... grab your garden gloves and shovels because we will need budding horticulturists to assist on another project for No.5. More information available soon!
