Ailie is a litigation lawyer specialising in commercial litigation and debt recovery claims. She frequently deals with actions in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session, along with other methods of alternative dispute resolution. 

Her career credentials include having advised leading UK insurers and multinational businesses. Ailie’s recent experience includes:  

  • Working on a number of high profile cases including a reclaiming motion in the inner house by a party litigant.
  • Persuading a sheriff to grant caution for expenses in an opposed motion hearing against junior counsel.
  • Successfully representing a client in obtaining leave to continue to act as a director under section 17 of the Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986.

Ailie joined Shoosmiths in October 2018 following 2 years as a solicitor at BLM Solicitors where she specialised in property damage, product liability, policy indemnity and breach of contract claims.
