Arshid Mahmood achieved a First Class Honours degree in Law LLB. Arshid worked with the UK’s fastest growing Trade Union, Usdaw, for over 6 years. As part of this role, he represented Usdaw members in employment matters. A career highlight included representing the Union with over 500,000 members at Trade Union Congress and successfully delivering a motion. Arshid also represented the Union at the House of Parliament.

Arshid joined Shoosmiths in 2016 as a Complaints Coordinator for the Avelo project. Within few months, Arshid significantly improved FCA compliance for his team. He then began assisting with title claims governed by the Hire Purchase Act 1964. Arshid was later given the additional responsibility of resolving all complaints for the Asset Finance Department. As part of these roles, Arshid regularly liaised with the client, the client’s customer, DVLA, Solicitors, finance houses, FOS and the Police.

In March 2018, Arshid was promoted to a Litigation Case Handler. Arshid provided comprehensive legal service to two large finance companies. This included issuing proceedings and securing the judgment balance by either a charging order or an attachment of earning order.

In October 2018, Arshid transferred to the Clinical Negligence Department. As part of this role, Arshid assists on a wide range of diverse cases across clinical negligence, including misdiagnosis claim, unnecessary hysterectomy claims, cancer claims, cerebral palsy and fatal accident claims. All these cases are valued between £25,000 - £3 million.
