Jake is a trainee solicitor in the Thames Valley Corporate team. He actively leads the legal due diligence process, provides support to deal teams and project manages deals.
He has experience on a wide array of M&A, PE and VC transactions and some of his recent experiences includes:
- acting for GEMS Education on their disposal of Sherfield School;
- acting for Compass Community on their acquisition of Artemis care homes;
- acting for PE house TPA on their initial investment into Clifton Trade Bathrooms;
- acting for Trimble on a large multi-jurisdictional reorganisation;
- acting for Lopay on an investment round;
- acting for NVM backed Pareto on their acquisition of SMS Support;
- acting for Chevron Traffic Management on several bolt-on acquisitions;
- acting for Shuttercraft on their restructuring and refinancing;
- acting for LDC backed Onecom on two acquisitions;
- acting for Mercia on its investment round into LMC Technologies; and
- acting for the shareholders of Linstol on their disposal to Florida based PE house Osprey Capital (part of the Hoffman Family of Companies).
Jake has previous experience working in-house at a commercial property firm before joining Shoosmiths in 2021.
Jake read law at university where he graduated with an upper second-class qualification. He then studied his Legal Practice Course, graduating with a distinction.
