Specialising in debt recovery and consumer credit litigation (and with an encyclopaedic knowledge of Northern Irish civil litigation), Jason acts for many leading lenders, finance houses and debt purchasers in respect of their litigation needs and debt recovery work in Northern Ireland (NI).
His familiarity with the working of NI courts and enforcements provides an efficient, practical and effective recovery service for his clients.
Indicative work highlights include:
- advising a major European debt purchaser client and on its litigation strategy for its newly acquired multi-million pound NI debt portfolio, and directly overseeing the recovery and litigation process through to completion,
- reviewing and streamlining the firm’s debt recovery processes in Northern Ireland and being instrumental in the design and implementation of the client’s new bespoke, automated, volume debt case management system.
Additionally, he is head of Shoosmiths’ Belfast office and responsible for the firm’s contribution to, and profile within, the local business community.
He qualified in 2007 and practised with a Northern Ireland firm which was acquired by Shoosmiths in 2016.
