Sally is a Partner in the Family Team and has practised family law since qualifying as a solicitor in 2003. Over the years she has built up a strong reputation in Northamptonshire, but now also regularly acts for clients from all over the country and abroad.

Sally specialises in providing strategic advice to her clients embarking on a relationship, or already in one, to protect their wealth or position. This can include drafting nuptial and cohabitation agreements. Sally also acts for those who are separated and involved in divorce proceedings and advises on financial and property issues, in addition to property disputes for unmarried couples or family members. Her strength is in providing clear and realistic advice and she has been recommended by the Legal 500 for many years, where they reported that clients describe her as 'professional and experienced with a sensible and pragmatic approach'.

Clients often include high net worth business owners, directors, medical professionals and senior managers, or their spouse; where there is pre-marital wealth, complex pension arrangements, inherited wealth, or third-party interests. Sally often works collaboratively with other professionals, is extremely thorough, and her court preparation is meticulous.

Sally has acted in many complex cases concerning the arrangements for children, including where there are allegations of abuse and parental alienation. She also specialises in surrogacy, fertility law and disputes arising out of surrogacy arrangements and donor conceived children. Sally is a member of Resolution; an organisation for family lawyers who are keen to promote a constructive approach to family law issues and consider the needs of the whole family. Clients are reassured by her professional, calm and supportive manner. She is known for having a cool head even when under pressure.

In addition to her role at Shoosmiths, Sally is a trustee for the charity Relate Northamptonshire. She is part of the strategic decision-making board, helping Relate work with people to enable them to enjoy life to the full by building healthy relationships and developing resilient mental wellbeing.
