Shoosmiths was instructed by Volkswagen Group United Kingdom to advise on its “Next Generation Services” tender – one of the most significant IT procurements in the UK.
Shoosmiths’ tier 1 ranked Technology, Digital and Telecoms (TDT) team advised Volkswagen Group United Kingdom on its five-year partnership with CGI to provide managed IT services to support its transformation journey and sustainable mobility strategy.
The new IT managed service contract was carefully crafted to prioritise customer services and address both business and IT priorities across the entire Volkswagen Group UK IT estate - providing the organisation with a service to adapt to changes in its business environment and evolving consumer demands.
Shoosmiths provided full service legal advice, led by Head of TDT, Joe Stephenson, from advising on the transactional architecture prior to ITT release through to negotiating all contractual documentation to completion. This highly complex contract resulted in over 250 pages of bespoke legal, technical and commercial content, demanding not only a high level of skilled craftsmanship from Shoosmiths’ TDT team, but also a deep technical understanding of the managed IT service.
